Treatment of dentin hypersensitivity with laser: systematic review

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Dentin hypersensitivity is an exacerbated response to a stimulus, causing acute and short-term pain. Over the years, several treatments for dentin have emerged, including laser therapy. Thus, objective of this work was carry out review about available devices existing procedures therapy in treatment hypersensitivity. CONTENTS: A systematic studies published from 2016 2020 carried through bibliographic search electronic databases Pubmed Biblioteca Virtual em Saude - (Virtual Health Library), using following descriptors: Laser And Hypersensitivity. Of total 51 articles found search, 14 were eligible review. There evaluation possible risks bias each included. CONCLUSION: As result, variety on market different protocols that prove be effective when compared initial pain situation (baseline) found. When with other therapies, it's not so clear which would most effective, due wide study methodologies. However, association therapies act two mechanisms interception (neural blocker) seems appropriate conduct control hypersensitivity, combination can happen physical methods (High low intensity laser) chemical blocker agents).
